Mr.Boroujerdi's doctrinal differences with the government clergymen have an old roots .His father, Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad Ali Kazemeini Boroujerdi, was angered and bothered in the early period of the revolution because of knowing the regime as the illegitimate government and opposing the theory of vilayat-e-faqih and then died suspiciously in 2002 after a long stay home and boycott by the government agents. Documents and films have remained under 19 years of Mr.Boroujerdi's religious and cultural activities represent that this cleric has always promoting separation theory of religion and state , supporting the freedom of opinion and the choice right of religion and has announced his open opposition to the juridical punishment such as execution ,stoning ,jail and whipping. While Mr.Boroujerdi entering his fifth years of unjust imprisonment, he has spent a total of 320 days in solitary confinements of Evin and Yazd central prison under the most difficult conditions. Due to beating, long torture and the lake of the health and care facilities in prison he has affected by numerous diseases and now is whiling away a very unpleasant situation.
80 percent of his vision due to retinal tear has disappeared and he is suspected of brain tumor. Judicial authorities have deprived him of hospitalization and medical leave permits because he is continuing his activity even in prison.
